1. About this policy
This policy explains how OZ Finance Group Pty Ltd (ABN 58 703 583 420, ACN 703 583 420) ("we", "us", "our") handles personal information. We are committed to managing personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It applies to information collected through this website, ozfinancegrouptec.online, by email and in the course of providing our services.
2. What personal information we collect
We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our business. Depending on how you deal with us, this may include:
- your name, business name, email address and other contact details;
- the content of enquiries and correspondence you send us;
- where you engage us, the financial records, invoices, receipts and business documents you give us so that we can provide our services;
- basic technical information your browser sends when you visit the website, such as browser type and pages requested.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act) and ask that you do not send it to us unless it is necessary and we have asked for it. You may deal with us anonymously or under a pseudonym for general enquiries, although we will need your identity to provide services.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you, for example when you email us, complete our enquiry form or provide documents during an engagement. Where you ask us to, we may also receive information from third parties acting for you, such as your accountant. If we receive unsolicited personal information we do not need, we will destroy or de-identify it where lawful and reasonable to do so.
4. How we use it
We use personal information to:
- respond to your enquiries;
- provide, manage and invoice for our services;
- communicate with you about your engagement;
- maintain and improve the website and our services;
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for direct marketing without your consent. You can opt out of any marketing communication at any time by emailing us.
5. Disclosure
We may disclose personal information to:
- service providers who support our business, such as email, hosting, cloud storage and accounting software providers, under appropriate confidentiality obligations;
- your accountant, tax agent or other adviser, where you ask or authorise us to;
- professional advisers to our own business;
- government agencies or others where required or authorised by law.
6. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers, such as email and cloud hosting providers, may store data on servers located outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure those providers handle personal information consistently with the APPs.
7. Cookies and website data
This website is a simple static site. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers or third-party tracking scripts. Our hosting provider may record standard server logs (such as IP address, date and time, and pages requested) for security and performance purposes. You can set your browser to refuse cookies; doing so will not affect your use of this site.
8. Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These include access controls, password-protected systems and limiting access to people who need it. When personal information is no longer needed for any lawful purpose, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it, subject to any legal requirement to retain business records.
Email is not a fully secure channel. Please do not send passwords, full card numbers or identity documents by email unless we have agreed a method with you.
9. Access and correction
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Email [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable period, usually 30 days. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing, except where it would be unreasonable to do so.
10. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the APPs, please contact us first at [email protected] with details of your concern. We will investigate and respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page with the date it was last updated.
